Serve as a Joint interface control officer (JICO) and develop, instruct, revise, and maintain tactical data link (TDL) course materials, including trainee guides, presentations, lesson plans, and labs. Formulate and evaluate proposals for changes to courseware and instructional media and represent the client at various interoperability working groups. Prepare and review OPTASK Link messages for use in tactical operations exercises and provide JICO subject matter expert (SME) and instructional support to all Joint training and allied training courses, when required. Leverage knowledge of the US Message Text Format (USMTF) and SME to facilitate student learning within interoperability courses. Provide course administration, including development and maintenance of course schedules, handouts, administrative documents, and student notification and in-processing procedures. Assist with client’s classroom and computer preparation for student and instructor use, including configuration control of student and instructor workstations and peripheral equipment and produce checklists covering JICO toolset and equipment kits and all other JICO-related systems.
-5 years of experience with service, Joint, or combined data link interoperability operations, exercises, and training as an instructor or supervisor
-Experience as a formal instructor in a service school or training command
-Experience with TDL management tools, including the Joint Range Extension (JRE), Joint Air Defense System Integrator (JADSI), and Link Monitoring System-Multi TDL (LMS- MT)
-Experience with the preparation or extraction of the OPTASK Link message for use in supported exercises or operations
-HS diploma or GED
-Experience with the preparation of OPTASK Link messages for use in supported exercises
-Experience as a Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) or Advanced JICC Operator (AJOC)
-Experience as a Joint Interface Control Cell (JICC) Watch Officer
-BA or BS degree preferred
