Blue Force is a small veteran owned company based in Hampton, Virginia. While they work in the shadow of and compete with large corporations that have been around for much longer, they maintain a consistent set of values that sets them apart from the rest.
“Our culture motivates us to always act in the best interest of our Customer and Employee.”
That’s all well and good you might say, but what does that actually mean in tangible terms?
Simply put: Blue Force makes decisions based on ethical principles which inform the way they serve their customers and support their employees. It’s been said that the art of negotiation relies on the ethical principle that the customer must receive a product or service that is superior to what company will get in return. After all, a happy customer is a repeat customer. Blue Force follows the golden rule, always looking to serve the customer with honesty and integrity.
So what kind of work does Blue Force do?
Blue Force Inc. was established in 2003 by two retired Air Force officers and, as this was their background, the company was founded on a solid portfolio of Air Force, Joint, and other Department of Defense contracts. Their contracts in this area include air operations support, wargaming and exercise support, English language training, negotiations training, and research support. In 2008, they diversified with work in the Department of State, which now comprises a significant portion of their portfolio; in the areas of anti-terrorism assistance and training, law enforcement training, justice technical advisors, and other types of assistance and advisory services.
Blue Force believes:
“Their work is a way to continue to serve their country, and to be a part of the world community.”
As a result, they find that individuals who are interested in being a part of something larger and contributing to our country and world through hard work and sharing of their talents tend to be successful. Therefore, service, teamwork, and a strong work ethic would be the underpinning qualities for success.
In keeping with their focus on teamwork and employee recognition, Blue Force Inc gives out annual awards for employees who work in their corporate office or out in the field. They are not just awards from the top but Blue force also recognizes employees who are most often recognized by their peers too. They also provide bonuses to those who refer new employees to the company. Ethical leadership that focuses on the value of the customer and employees who serve them makes working at Blue Force a service to the country. Taking care of people, whether it’s the customer or employee, helps Blue Force complete the mission.
