Savannah International Academy is a private co-educational international secondary school due to start admitting students for the 2018 academic year. The school aims to provide a holistic approach to the development of each student who passes through its doors. Because of the diversity of background that it will draw its students from, SIA has as its overarching objective to develop to the fullest, the potential of each student within a multicultural, multi-faith and international setting.
The school is a classical example of a commercial set up with a social and human agenda to provide equal access to quality education to children and wards from both privileged and under-privileged backgrounds. In line with this objective, a significant number of scholarships will be available, through the Savannah International Academy Trust, to support children from deprived backgrounds. These scholarships will ensure that the school will have a broad mixture of students from different economic, social, cultural and religious backgrounds thus enriching the experience of the students at SIA who will share and learn from each other.
In addition to the prescription and requirements of the curriculum as set by the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), SIA plans to infuse ideas and content that will enrich the students’ learning experiences. From this perspective, SIA will implement a comprehensive Curriculum Enrichment Programme (CEP) to facilitate social entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership skills. The CEP will also promote social responsibility and value for one another, physical education opportunities as well as provide for creative arts education.
